Investment Management

No set it and forget it, cookie cutter portfolios here

Financial planning is essential to reach your longer-term goals.  However, if your portfolio does not deliver the necessary results stated in the plan, your plan can fail.  NovaDius’ investment management strategies centers around:

Too many financial planners, wealth advisors, and investment managers have taken the “easy route” when it comes to managing client assets.  They use the same index or mutual funds across all client portfolios, no matter the client’s age, risk tolerance, or net worth.  They do this because it’s easy and allows them to “scale” their business more effectively to grow larger and larger.  Investment expertise is no longer deemed necessary since they use a “commoditized’, plain-Vanilla investment approach.  That is not the case at NovaDius!  We tailor each portfolio to our individual client’s needs and desires.  We continuously search for the best investments to fill a particular need in a portfolio.  We are not married to one investment type, one investment strategy, or one investment allocation.

No two clients are the same when it comes to their risk profile, return needs, or goals.  Investment portfolios should reflect that.  We take the time to understand your unique situation based on in-depth conversations.  Once we have a deep understanding of where you want to go, we construct an investment allocation for you.  Careful attention is given to the placement of assets among different types of accounts (Roth versus Traditional IRA versus a Taxable account) to optimize portfolio results.

The team managing your money has decades of experience, including investing for large institutions.  We have successfully navigated many difficult market cycles including the bursting of the dot.com bubble in 1999 and the Global Financial Crisis of 2008.  We have experience in boom-and-bust cycles, periods when the Fed is aggressively raising or lowering interest rates, and through various other periods of credit stress, market volatility, and similar trying times.  We leverage our experience for your benefit.

Using a combination of the latest technology and our team of CFA charterholders, we customize and regularly monitor your portfolio to ensure it is performing the way it is intended.  Our investment committee meets on a monthly basis to discuss market trends.  We stay on top of what is happening in your portfolio.

As stated in our firm’s “Four Pillars”, we believe client education and superior service is what you should expect.  After all, it is your money and you should understand what is going on with your portfolio.  To keep you informed and up-to-date on what is happening in your portfolio, we provide regular communications which may include weekly and quarterly market commentaries, monthly investment committee insight, and special bulletin topics so you know what is happening with the markets and your portfolio at all times.

My Story:

Like many in our field, I was initially drawn to financial planning by the numbers. But what’s kept me here is the people. Over the years, I’ve seen how easily financial guidance can become disconnected from the lives it’s meant to serve. I wanted to be part of a firm where relationships come first—where we know our clients well enough to anticipate their needs, not just react to them. Novadius is that firm.

Why Novadius:

I joined Novadius to be part of something different. We started this firm to challenge the status quo of an industry where promises often go unfulfilled—firms claiming to offer “customized plans” and “deep client relationships” while managing hundreds or even thousands of accounts. That’s not us. At Novadius, we limit the number of clients we work with so we can deliver on what we promise. Every plan is tailored, every strategy is intentional, and every relationship matters. We treat our clients the way we treat our families—because that’s how it should be.

Family:

I live in Fairway, Kansas with my wife Michelle, our son Henry, our daughter Elizabeth, and our dog Rush.

Hobbies:

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I’m also proud to serve on the Finance Committee at our church.
