NovaDius Success Path

You should know what to expect when you work with us.

Success Path Resized

The NovaDius SuccessPath process starts with a friendly and relaxed phone call, video, or in person meeting.  We get to know you and learn more about your goals, concerns, and current financial situation.  We may be able to produce an initial financial plan at the meeting.  We will also share our initial thoughts about how we can help you.

If you decide to meet with us again, we will take a deeper dive into your financial situation.  Having already learned about your goals, which are often retirement related, we will further discuss your current assets, income needs, risk tolerance and time horizon.  We can also help consult on college savings, Social Security optimization, ways to reduce taxes on retirement income, insurance and estate planning.  We will put together a plan with an honest assessment of how to meet your financial goals.  At this point, you can decide whether you’re ready to join our client family.

After you become a client, we will conduct a follow-up meeting to discuss the implementation of our comprehensive SuccessPath plan.  We want you to feel completely comfortable with our approach and will guide you through exactly how we will invest your money before we do any trading.  At this point, the plan is now ready for execution, but we want to make sure there haven’t been any last-minute modifications.  If we are all on the same page, we will get your approval to put the SuccessPath plan in motion.

Once put in motion, we will continuously monitor and optimize your investment portfolio and financial plan.  You should also feel comfortable talking with us anytime you wish.  We are always available to you with unlimited access.  Though we will meet at least once a year, we can meet as many times as you would like and, in the meantime, we will keep you informed about any updates to your portfolio and plan.  Client education is a key part of our core mission, so you will receive weekly market updates and periodic commentaries on finance and planning designed to enhance your knowledge.

Fiduciary

We are fiduciaries and we take that responsibility very seriously.  As a fiduciary, we are legally obligated to place your financial interests above our own when providing financial and investment advice.  We only make recommendations that are in your best interests and exercise the utmost care in doing so.  Many advisors are still incentivized to sell you investments that make the most money for their companies or themselves.  That is not how we operate.  We have no sales quotas or requirements to sell certain investment products…. we only recommend what makes sense for YOUR financial goals and what works best for YOU.

Four Pillars

We believe the advisor/client relationship should be an intimate, working partnership and not just a once a year “annual review meeting”.  Our relationship should be built on integrity, honesty, and striving for professional excellence at all times.  This approach is at the core of what we call the “four pillars” of our advisor/client relationship.

The “four pillars” are:

Every client should have a sound financial plan to guide them towards current and future financial goals.

Because each client’s plan is different, their investment portfolio should reflect that.  Our portfolios are constructed by a seasoned team of professionals, which includes two CFA charterholders with decades of investment experience.  We will tailor portfolios to best meet your goals and needs.

Talking about money can be stressful.  We help alleviate this stress by discussing financial planning and investments in a way clients can understand and by delivering a superior client experience.  We care deeply about our clients and demonstrate this through our daily interactions.

  • Clients want an advisor who:
    1. Understands their unique situation.
    2. Will educate them.
    3. Will respect their assets.
    4. Will help solve their problems.
    5. Will keep in touch with them.

We believe strongly in client education, because hey, it is your money! A more educated client is better able to make informed decisions regarding their finances.  We take the time to educate you on all aspects relating to personal finance – everything from investments to tax implications to estate planning.

Nate Geraci

President of NovaDius Wealth Management

My Story:

Before entering the wealth management industry, I had a front-row seat at a startup technology company that evolved into a remarkable success story. Leading multiple teams and navigating a fast-paced, ever-changing environment gave me valuable insight into what it takes to build successful organizations—and the vital role that high-caliber people play in that process.

In 2008, at the height of the Global Financial Crisis, I embraced my entrepreneurial spirit and helped launch The ETF Store, now rebranded as NovaDius Wealth Management. My decision was driven by a deep passion for improving financial literacy—something I believe our society urgently needs to prioritize. I’ve long felt that gaps in financial knowledge are too often exploited in the financial services industry, and I wanted to create a firm that would bridge that gap through transparency and education.

That commitment remains a cornerstone of my work today at NovaDius. We’ve built a team who shares a passion for empowering clients through education. I firmly believe that informed investors are far more likely to achieve lasting financial success, and this belief continues to guide everything we do.

Family:

I live in Overland Park, a southwest suburb of the Kansas City metro, with my wife Felicia, our two daughters—Talia and Bella, and our pup Charlie.

  • Life & Health Insurance License

Brian Murray, CFA

Managing Director

My Story:

During my time as a portfolio manager at Kansas City Life Insurance, I had a front-row seat to financial markets under pressure. These defining events taught me how to invest during periods of excessive speculation and unforeseen crisis—and reinforced the importance of discipline, humility, and adaptability.

Over time, friends and family began turning to me for financial advice. Many found investing intimidating and confusing, and I discovered I had a passion for making finance understandable and personal. I didn’t just want to manage assets—I wanted to build relationships. I wanted to sit across the table, listen, and help people face-to-face.

I helped create Novadius to offer something different: true personalization. Too many firms say they offer customized portfolios or deep financial planning but simply can’t deliver—because they’re serving hundreds, even thousands of clients. That scale forces them into cookie-cutter strategies, superficial planning, and minimal contact.

At Novadius, we’ve built a boutique firm intentionally. We take the time to know each client deeply. Every portfolio, every plan, and every conversation is tailored. We aim to treat our clients the same way we treat our family—with transparency, loyalty, and care.

I am a fiduciary. Your financial needs come before anything else. Integrity and honesty aren’t just words—they’re non-negotiables.

Family:

I live in Olathe, Kansas with my wife Amy and our three sons. Two are in college, and our youngest is in 8th grade. Our dog Leo keeps us all entertained.

Hobbies:

I enjoy traveling with my family, skiing, playing golf (badly), exploring craft beer and good wine, and slowly improving my guitar skills.

Education & Certifications:

  • CFA Charterholder
  • MBA, Finance & International Business – University of Kansas
  • BBA, Marketing – Hofstra University
  • Licensed in Life & Health Insurance

Tim Womack

Managing Director and Vice President of Investments

My Story:

While working as a portfolio manager at a large insurance company in Kansas City, I received a call from an uncle regarding his investment portfolio. This uncle wondered if he could have me look over his investment portfolio. This particular uncle did not really understand investments and stated that he had been with the same, large brokerage firm for well over 25 years. He was concerned that his performance was not what he thought it should be given the length of time he was invested and the returns he was witnessing from published stock market indices.

What I found when I met with my uncle and analyzed his portfolio was one of the most appalling things I had ever seen. The portfolio was made up of high fund fees, had a risk profile that did not match my uncle’s wishes or age, and had severely lagged the markets. After that meeting, I decided to investigate whether this was the norm or the exception, and sadly enough, I found it was more normal than not. At that moment, I decided to lay the groundwork to open a firm that addressed all of the issues my uncle and other family members were having with their advisors. Thus, my own firm, Inovest Wealth Management, was born in Prairie Village, KS in 2008.

After 8 years, I realized that being a small firm presented some challenges and decided to merge my business into a large, national firm in Overland Park, KS, where I became the creator and Director of their bond department.

I moved over to join Novadius to help create a better financial advisory business model, one that is client-focused and actually works for the client and not the other way around. This is the model that NovaDius is based on.

Why NovaDius?

I helped create NovaDius because I wanted to provide clients with the type of experience they deserve and desire. Too many advisors and firms tout “customized investment portfolios,” “in-depth financial plans,” or “really getting to know your client” when they have hundreds, if not thousands of clients. These firms “talk a good talk,” but really all they care about is acquiring more clients and assets under management. It is nearly impossible to do what they promise when they have so many clients. Also, many times they lack the expertise to deliver on what they advertise and promise. Thus, they turn to “cookie-cutter” portfolios, simple financial plans, and offer only a single annual meeting to update clients on their financial status because it is easier to streamline.

NovaDius was created to break this norm. I want to do it the right way! The way other firms advertise, but don’t deliver. I want to treat our clients the way we treat our family members. Everything is tailored to our client’s needs and desires, the way it should be!

Family:

I live in the Brookside/Waldo area of Kansas City with my wife, Melissa, and two children, Christopher and Claire.

Hobbies:

I love to swim, fish, and collect antique pottery. However, my favorite past-time is attending one of my children’s sporting events. I can usually be found most nights and weekends either at the baseball fields or karate dojo with my son, or at the soccer fields or at a swimming pool with my daughter.

Education & Certifications:

  • B.A. Economics from Columbia University, New York, NY
  • CFA Charterholder
  • Life and Health Insurance
  • Series 65 securities license

Jason Lank

Senior Investment Advisor

“Why did you decide to become a financial advisor?”

From an early age, I found saving, investing and planning concepts to be fascinating.  To meld my academic passion with a joy of teaching and speaking makes me feel very lucky to have found this path.

“What tasks do you enjoy carrying out for most of your clients?”

By far and away, my greatest joy is visiting (in person) with friends and clients to help solve problems.  Technology is fantastic, but sharpening a pencil to turn financial weakness into financial strength is rewarding.  Another task I enjoy is turning over rocks for investment opportunities that big-box firms can’t or won’t.

“What was the most powerful lesson you learned about money”

Start planning early.  For yourself, your kids, and beyond. Father time takes no prisoners.  I’ve never had someone be remiss about taking action when procrastination was the easier route.  ‘Someday’ is not a day of the week.

Qualifications and Education

* Bachelor’s degree in business, concentration in economics

Bill Fisher

Senior Investment Advisor

My Story:
Growing up in a highly specialized, customer-focused family business, I learned very early the meaning of risk management, compounding, and return on investment (ROI). The focus on these, as well as other important family principles, would play a significant role in our family’s success. The redundancy of conversations about these principles morphed over time into a passionate search for the optimum investment portfolio allocation – essentially, a quest to provide the greatest return with the right amount of risk no matter the market environment. The result: “optimum” must be flexible since the characteristics of these principles and desired results have different meanings to different people. This requires listening, understanding, and collaborating to determine an appropriate amount of risk and return necessary to achieve an individual’s most important financial objectives. This process is what has led to the long-lasting clients that have become my friends and part of my extended family.

Why NovaDius?
I arrived in late 2013 at The ETF Store, now rebranded to NovaDius Wealth Management, to utilize the open architecture to best match my clients’ desired objectives in a truly consultative environment.

Family:
I live in Overland Park, Kansas with my wife, Fernanda, and Goldendoodle, Ginger. My daughters, Sophia and Cecilia, are away at college.

Hobbies:
I enjoy golf, tennis, pickleball and long, fast, daily walks with Fernanda. In addition to my hobbies, I take great interest in my girls’ successes in their sports competitions. Sophia – tennis. Cecilia – long distance and steeplechase runner.

Education & Certifications:

  • B.A. Business Administration from
  • Westminster College, Fulton, MOSeries 7 & 66 Securities License

Elliott Homan

Vice President of Operations and Advisory Services

My Story:

Like many in our field, I was initially drawn to financial planning by the numbers. But what’s kept me here is the people. Over the years, I’ve seen how easily financial guidance can become disconnected from the lives it’s meant to serve. I wanted to be part of a firm where relationships come first—where we know our clients well enough to anticipate their needs, not just react to them. Novadius is that firm.

Why Novadius:

I joined Novadius to be part of something different. We started this firm to challenge the status quo of an industry where promises often go unfulfilled—firms claiming to offer “customized plans” and “deep client relationships” while managing hundreds or even thousands of accounts. That’s not us. At Novadius, we limit the number of clients we work with so we can deliver on what we promise. Every plan is tailored, every strategy is intentional, and every relationship matters. We treat our clients the way we treat our families—because that’s how it should be.

Family:

I live in Fairway, Kansas with my wife Michelle, our son Henry, our daughter Elizabeth, and our dog Rush.

Hobbies:

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I’m also proud to serve on the Finance Committee at our church.
